Saturday, April 13th, 2019: On top of the San Diego hit parade today was Sawyer Carroll. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Padres to a 15-7 victory over the Colorado Rockies.
The sweet swinging right fielder told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
The skipper of the Rockies wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Sawyer Carroll hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
For the season Carroll is hitting .647, batted in 6 runs with 1 home run and 1 runs scored.

Friday, April 12th, 2019: The Philadelphia Phillies have finished a deal with All Star-caliber shortstop Anthony Rendon that will extend his stay in Philadelphia at least 1 year and will pay out $12,500,000.
Thus far this season in 5 games Rendon is batting .150 with no home runs, 0 RBIs and 2 runs scored. He has 3 hits in 20 at-bats.

Wednesday, April 10th, 2019: Jin-hyun Yi told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."
Well, that's just what Yi of the San Diego Padres did against the Colorado Rockies. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Rockies, who suffered a 7-4 defeat.
"Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us."
Jin-hyun Yi singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
